On January 29, 2009, Mitch Schilling and David Graff represented Amigos de Lo de Marcos in a meeting of the citizen associations on the coast of Riviera Nayarit. The meeting was held in Sayulita and 40 people attended .
For the Amigos, David explained our concern with water sanitation and the dumping of construction materials. Other groups addressed concerns ranging from over-development to the burying of electrical lines. It was the first meeting of many, hopefully, and Mitch recommends we continue our participation.
Werner reported a balance of $66,067 (pesos).
The Delegado, Nestor Palomera, was not in attendance. Recently, Nestor and Victor Carrillo (President of Lo de Marcos) explained their roles to David. Nestor represents the town in the government of Bahia de Banderas. Victor is the president of the citizens action committee. He approves events and activities in town. Before Amigos begins any new projects, we need to obtain approval from both Nestor and Victor.
