Garbage Committee Report to General Meeting

The recommendations of the Amigos de Lo de Marcos Garbage Committee have not been voted on or approved by the general membership. This is the status of what the committee is working on and the issues it is addressing. Please feel free to provide feedback on any items in this report.

• We have picked our 1st site for the collection of garbage, after several meetings with the Executive Committee, and the Delgado. The site will be located at the corner of Universidad & Las Minitas.
  
  The construction will be similar to Ron´s R.V. collection site.
  
  It will have a concrete slab, three sides, roof, and gates. The size of the casa will be approximately 2 meters by 4 meters, and will hold 12 cans.
  
  To help beautify the area, we will add grass around it, with a bench slightly away from it. It is our hope that people will not throw trash on the grass, and enjoy the use of the bench.
  
  The recycle committee will have room in the site for their recycling barrels as well, with a separating wall, and their own entrance. They are currently working on deciding what they need.
  
  The cost of the site has been approved, at a maximum cost of $12000 Pesos. Cuco, a local contractor will donate the labor with his crew. We hope to break ground, weather permitting, on Thursday July 10, 2008.
  
  We talked about an organic waste site, as well. This site would be for primarily landscape waste. We are still trying to locate a site that would be appropriate.
  
  No news on construction waste at this time.
